The weekend is here again around the Fairbanks and Anchorage areas and there are many events to enjoy. Kick off the weekend with live music in Anchorage, catch a baseball game or local car show in Fairbanks, and embark on a nature hike in Eagle River. Live After Five Concert Series

Start your weekend on the right foot with this recurring Live After Five concert series in Anchorage. The music rotates and there are always plenty of outdoor tables and seating to relax and enjoy with your friends. Town Square Park hosts this summer music series and this weekend will feature the musical group Whipsaws.Â
San Francisco Seals vs. Alaska Goldpanners

While Father's Day may not be until Sunday, you can start early with this Alaska Goldpanners baseball game at Growden Park. The Fairbanks-based team, now celebrating its 55th year helping many college players go on to the majors, will be playing the San Francisco Seals beginning at 7 PM, Friday night.Â
Father's Day Hike & Cookout

What better way to spend Father's Day than on a hike through the Albert Loop and a cookout? This event will be a guided, 3-mile round-trip hike on the Albert Loop and cookout on the gravel bar by the Eagle River. Participants are encouraged to bring water, a snack to share. Hot dogs, buns, marshmallows and other picnic supplies will be provided. This event is perfect for spending the day with Dad, but is limited to the first 16 participants who join. Admission is free.
13th Annual Father's Day Van Horn Car Show

The 13th annual Father's Day Van Horn car show kicks off Sunday with free admission to all. The event will feature unique and custom cars from all across the area, so bring your own or come to take a look. In addition to door prizes, this is a one-of-a-kind chance to see some of the most unique cars of Alaska. If you have one of your own to share, the event is open to all makes and models.
Stone Soup Riverboat Cruise

This event is perfect for a leisurely cruise with Dad around Fairbanks. Admission is $40 and proceeds will benefit the Stone Soup Cafe. Join them on their annual summer Father's Day cruise and bring a picnic or bid on one of the dessert items. It's perfect for the whole family this weekend as children under 5 are free and one child up to 12 (with one full admission) can come aboard free also.
