Real Estate in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer, North Pole Headed in the Right Direction
For the first time in eight years, consumers have a positive outlook on the real estate market and feel confident it is headed in the right direction.Â
The findings are a result of a new Gallup poll that previously pegged Americans losing hope in the market from 2003 to 2008. During that time, home prices had begun falling rapidly and homeowners were losing value. However, the overall view of real estate has since made a sharp turn from these low points and suggests both homebuyers and home sellers are expecting a bright recovery.
We have just stepped out of the busy summer buying season, but fall can be just as lucrative a time in the local Alaskan real estate market. Below are a few of the reasons this season is optimal for buying or selling your home in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer or North Pole Alaska.
Home prices
For home sellers, these rising numbers may mean a higher sale price, but keep in mind the importance of listing while there are motivated homebuyers in the market. With summer just behind us, there are still a number of buyers present who have yet to find the perfect property— that property could be yours!Â
For homebuyers, this is one reason why you might like to buy a home in Alaska before winter. Waiting to see what the real estate market will do no longer makes sense. According to the Home Price Expectation Survey, prices over the next five years could rise anywhere from 11% to 28%.Â
Mortgage rates
Madden Real Estate is always happy to recommend mortgage and finance professionals to help you find the best rate, but keep in mind that these are on the up and up. No matter if you're a first-time buyer or you plan to sell your home and purchase a new property in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Eagle River or Palmer, rising mortgage rates should be a strong factor in the timing of your move.
Time of the year
Certainly summer is attractive for buyers and sellers with the kids out of school and the weather at its warmest, but fall is another prime time to consider a change of home scenery. This season is also a window of opportunity for Alaskan homebuyers and sellers to take advantage of tightening lender requirements.Â
At Madden Real Estate, we have the skills, experience and programs in place to help you achieve a successful home sale or home purchase— we can even assist with your military relocation. If you've been contemplating a move, do not hesitate to contact us!
We'd love to hear from you!
