Inexpensive Home Staging Ideas for Alaskan Homes
As part of working with Madden Real Estate, we guarantee your home sale or we'll buy it. It's part of our Guaranteed Sales Program and part of what makes us the team you'll want on your side when selling your home in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, or Eagle River this summer. We'll help you—as an Alaskan home seller— to come up with an overall strategy that works for your particular home, including a desirable listing price and perhaps even home staging.Â
Before you list your home this summer, or before you let prospective homebuyers through the door, keep these home staging tips in mind to give your home sale an added boost:
Bird's Eye View
Put yourself in the homebuyer's position and step outside to take a "bird's eye view" of your home. Depending on your home's whereabouts in Alaska, you might even like to drive-by the property to see what you notice first from the home's exterior. If not, simply take a walk around the property outside. What stands out to you? Is the yard housing objects that might deter buyers? Does the home look welcoming? You will likely find items that need to be cleared away or spruced up, so be sure to take notes as you go.
Tone It Down
For homebuyers, they need to be able to visualize themselves in the home. With loud wall colors and bold furniture choices, that can be difficult to do. To give your home appeal a boost (and perhaps your home sale), tone down your wall colors by freshening them with a neutral tone. Replace any carpet with a neutral, tan shade and take down the patterned window coverings. When Alaskan homebuyers can view your home as a blank slate, the more likely they are to take an interest.
Easy Navigation
Just as you toured your home as a homebuyer, driving by or walking outside to take inventory, its important that you do the same indoors. Edit your furniture down to the essentials, removing any large pieces that may be blocking great Alaskan views or focal points like fireplaces. The last thing you want to do is obstruct the overall flow of the room— you want potential homebuyers to be able to move easily from room to room.Â
Freshen Up
For homes on the Alaskan real estate market, both looking and even smelling fresh is a must. Before you list your property, it may be a wise decision to rid the spaces of any pet or smoke odors. This is a key step in the home staging process and one that can have the biggest impact on homebuyers. An odor in a home, no matter if the rest of the home is impeccable, can hinder your general home sale efforts.
At Madden Real Estate, we know the in's and out's of the local real estate markets in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Palmer and Eagle River. You can trust our team to handle your home sale from start to finish— and if we don't sell your home, we'll buy it!
